CO2-free beer, a Croatian region and a charitable renewable association: the EUSEW winners!

Winners of this year's EU Energy Awards have been announced at EU Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels!

Winner of the 'business' category is Göss Brewery in Austria. The brewery runs entirely on renewable energy and integrates other sustainable energy technologies in the brewing process.

Top of the 'public sector' category is the Pokupsko region in Croatia which is switching over to renewable and energy efficient technologies in many areas from street lighting to schools.

Heading up the 'consumers' category is RESocial Innovation in Portugal. This cooperative-owned project has seen the installation of solar panels at the Portuguese Association for the Mentally Disabled.

And, finally, winner of the prize voted for by you, citizens of Europe, is…. Göss Brewery! Cheers to the world's first carbon-neutral brewery.
