The first expert meeting of the EU Refining Forum took place on 1 December 2017 in Brussels. For the first time, the Forum met at expert level, allowing a more in-depth discussion of specific topics relevant to the refining sector. Participants exchanged views on various issues, including the Clean Energy for All Europeans package and the impact of internal combustion engines on urban air quality. A high-level meeting of the Forum will follow in the first half of 2018.
The EU Refining Forum was established in 2012. The aim of the Forum is to provide an opportunity for the industry, EU countries, Members of the European Parliament, the Commission and other stakeholders to discuss planned and future regulatory proposals with potentially significant impacts on the EU oil refining industry and on the EU's security of supply of petroleum products.
