Lamps and luminaires
Lamps and luminaires should come with an energy label, indicating their energy efficiency on a scale from A++ (most efficient) to E (least efficient).
The relevant Regulation (EU) No 874//2012 can be found here
There are different labels for lamps and for luminaires:
- for lamps, each label will provide such important information as: the company that made or placed the lamp on the market, the model, how energy efficient the lamp and the weighted energy consumption per 1 000 hours. The label may be printed in colour or in black and white;
- for luminaires, each label will provide such important information as: the company that made or placed the lamp on the market, the model, how energy efficient the lamp, a sentence (in any EU languages) presenting the bulb compatibility of the luminaire (*), etc. The label may also be displayed in horizontal orientation.
To fill these fields in, simply click on the relevant energy label below.
To use the energy label on a product, please print with a minimum dimension for lamps of 36 mm x 76 mm OR if the packaging is not large enough to contain the label, it may be reduced (see details in Regulation (EU) No 874/2012); for luminaires the minimum dimensions are 50 mm X 100 mm.
When on the Internet, be sure to use an energy label size allowing clear visibility and legibility. Templates for nested display arrows for Internet energy labels can be found here
(*) In the Energy Label Generator, the following languages are available: English, French and German. Other languages can be added on request (please use the contact form).
