BovINE is a Horizon 2020 thematic network focused on knowledge exchange to help address the challenges and drive the sustainability of the European beef farming sector and community.
Project Co-ordinator Professor Maeve Henchion, Teagasc, says: “BovINE provides a unique opportunity for the European cattle farming sector to work together to exchange knowledge and co-create solutions. All European beef farmers can take advantage of the networking opportunities and channels provided by BovINE, not only Member States represented by project partners.”
The BovINE Knowledge Hub
The project will connect with farmers across Europe by providing an open platform – the BovINE Knowledge Hub – where beef farmers, advisers, member organisations and researchers can exchange knowledge and share experiences to drive awareness and adoption on farm of innovative and proven practices.
Knowledge will be generated and exchanged directly, and via the Knowledge Hub across the four interlinked themes of:
animal health & welfare,
production efficiency & meat quality
The Hub is designed to enable all stakeholders, particularly farmers tackling these challenges and topics head-on every day, to not only search and access research innovations and good practices but to also contribute their own knowledge and experience. Content will build over time.
