Objective of the project (native language): 

Opbouw van organische stof in de bodem en het bemesten dient zo dicht mogelijk bij natuurlijke processen van vitaal belang zijn om verdroging en uitspoelingsrisico’s het hoofd te bieden. Om deze stromen (weer) in te kunnen zetten dient er met lokale stakeholders integraal naar het ecologisch en economisch verantwoord hergebruik van mest en reststromen gekeken te worden. In deze GLB-pilot wordt gewerkt aan twee deelprojecten met ieder een consortium van zowel landbouw als natuur stakeholders in twee gebieden ten zuiden van Tilburg en Eindhoven.

Objective of the project (in English): 

The build-up of organic matter in the soil and fertilization should be vitally important as close as possible to natural processes in order to combat desiccation and leaching risks. In order to be able to (re)use these flows, an integral look at the ecologically and economically responsible reuse of manure and residual flows must be taken with local stakeholders. In this GLB pilot, two subprojects are being worked on, each with a consortium of both agriculture and nature stakeholders in two areas south of Tilburg and Eindhoven.

Description of activities (native language): 

Bij het eerste deelproject (de samenwerking tussen akkerbouw en veehouderij) ligt de focus op een zo hoog mogelijke kwaliteit mest en emissiearme toediening.
Bij de tweede deelproject ligt de focus op van 5 verschillende reststromen uit veeteelt en natuur hoogwaardige compost betrouwbaar, valideerbaar en certificeerbaar beschikbaar te krijgen voor agrariërs en natuur.
In online sessies en fysieke bijenkomsten worden kansen en dilemma’s van het behouden van mest- en reststromen in de Kempen behandeld richting praktische handvatten.
Belangrijke onderdelen van het project zijn adequate monitoring via dataficatie en monitoring met sensoren. 

Description of activities (in English): 

In the first sub-project (the collaboration between arable farming and livestock farming), the focus is on the highest possible quality of manure and low-emission application.
In the second sub-project, the focus is on making high-quality compost from 5 different residual flows from livestock farming and nature available to farmers and nature in a reliable, validated and certifiable manner.
In online sessions and physical meetings, opportunities and dilemmas of preserving manure and residual flows in the Kempen are discussed in terms of practical tools.
Important parts of the project are adequate monitoring via datafication and monitoring with sensors.

Description of the context of the project: 

Bodemuitputting en erosie is een grote bedreiging voor zowel akkerbouwers, veetelers, water- en natuurbeheerders. Een van de GLB-oplossingen is het inzetten van hoogwaardige natuurlijke mest en compost. Op dit moment vertrekken er (noodgedwongen) teveel nutriënten en organische stof uit een agrarisch gebied. Maaisel en overige-groen blauwe reststromen van gemeenten en natuurbeheerders worden vaak tegen hoge kosten afgevoerd. Zelfs de mest van dieren die een gebalanceerde voeding krijgen wordt op dit moment vooral geëxporteerd.
