Alzheimer Europe with the support of Marisa Matias Member of European Parliament and Member of the European Alzheimer's Alliance is organising today a lunch conference in order to present the results of ALCOVE Joint Action.
ALCOVE (Alzheimer Cooperative Valuation in Europe) Joint Action between Member States sought to answer four key issues:
1. How to improve data for better knowledge about dementia prevalence?
2. How to improve access to dementia diagnosis as early as possible?
3. How to improve care for people living with dementia and particularly those with behavioural disorders?
4. How to improve the rights of people with dementia, particularly in respect to advance declarations of will?
The project also aimed to identify the best practices and strategies for the reduction of antipsychotics in Europe.
The main results and recommendations of ALCOVE will be presented by Dr. Armelle Leperre Desplanques, Joint Action Leader, Haute Autorite de Sante, France.The event will take place at Hotel Leopold, in Brussels, on 18 June 2013, between 12h30and 14h00.
