Social care and technology supporting age-friendly environments in territories of the Centro Region of Portugal The commitment sets the overall goal of Ageing@Coimbra Consortium in the following areas: *"My neighbourhood is not an island" - rehabilitation of housing for the elderly living alone *Systems and technologies to improve the quality of life of older people *Living lab technologies and systems geared to the elderly in the historic center *Digital literacy and health in low density territories *EuroHealthy project will develop a population health index promote health and health equity across European regions with a focus on metropolitan areas (EU project EuroHealthy) *Vitality Campus Ageing@Coimbra, age friendly environment in Coimbra (Celas) *Cumeeira Social Village - Village adaptation to a autonomous elderly living space *IdoVis - Elderly Visitors of Other Elderly *European Covenant on Demographic Change This commitment involves the following Ageing@Coimbra members: Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra, Apojovi, Município de Ílhavo, IPN, CCDRC - Regional Authority, Município de Penela, Município de Pampilhosa da Serra, University of Coimbra, Câmara Municipal de Coimbra, University of Coimbra Hospital (CHUC). As a Reference Site in the Centro Region of Portugal, Ageing@Coimbra sets the scaling-up platform to assure impact and replicability of good practices in the time frame 2016-2020.

*Cumeeira Social Village - Village adaptation to a autonomous elderly living space. This commitment involved the rehabilitation of primary schools in mountain isolated villages of Penela region for innovative programs to support older people with ICT technologies. Seniors return to the renewed old primary school to participate in classes to learn about basic computer functions like internet searching, skype communication, email management. This program has been developed in the last 3 years. *Digital literacy and health in low density territories - This program included health and social care support to older people living isolated in rural areas of the Centro Region of Portugal. Mobile health and social care mobile units offer innovative services that will empower social care providers with knowledge to monitor basic health parameters. The project started in Penela and will be replicated to other areasc - the project is prepared to apply to structural funds - awaiting the call to be launched.. *Vitality Campus Ageing@Coimbra, age friendly environment in Coimbra (Celas). This projet is part of a H2020 funded teaming between the University of Coimbra, University Medical Center Groningen and Newcastle University to develop a Multidisciplinary Research Institute of Ageing. This project involves the rehabilitation of a urban area of Coimbra to implement a age-friendly environment, Ageing@Coimbra Vitality Campus. *IdoVis - Elderly Visitors of Other Elderly - Cáritas Coimbra developed a project aiming at creating groups of autonomous elderly who regularly visit more dependent elderly at home or other structures (colaboration of ESEnfC and Ageing@Coimbra) - pilot in 2 cities ended in june and scaling up to 3 more locations will start in january. *European Covenant on Demographic Change - Cáritas Coimbra, as Vice-President of the Covenant, potentiates the network in order to disseminate good practices and collecting information about other initiatives that can be imported to the region.
