EuroHealthNet is a not-for-profit partnership of organisations, agencies and statutory bodies working to contribute to a healthier Europe by promoting health and health equity between and within European countries. EuroHealthNet achieves this by i)fostering networking, capacity building and cooperation among members (public health and health promotion agencies at national, regional and local level), ii)undertaking research to develop policy recommendations, iii)communicating these recommendations.
EuroHealthNet has participated in various projects on healthy ageing, such as FP7 2012 “IROHLA: Intervention Research on Health Literacy among Ageing population”, and AFE-INNOVNET: Towards an Age-Friendly Europe”.
We were lead partner in DG SANCO co-funded “Healthy Ageing” project (2005-2007). The website http://www.healthyageing.eu/ has been consistently maintained and updated by EuroHealthNet since then. It has been used to disseminate good practices in the field from our members across Europe. Examples range from nutrition and physical activity interventions for seniors to actions dedicated to promote independent living and tackle social exclusion.
It is our commitment to continuously update the healthy ageing website and to further disseminate healthy ageing related good practices.

By showcasing practical examples of health promotion interventions, identifying initiatives in the European Union, and making available key resources about healthy ageing, we hope that healthyageing.eu builds awareness of the steps required to make healthy ageing a reality.
The website provides information about some key determinants to healthy ageing, good practices that aim to improve the health and well-being of older people, publications and links to key resources, and a section on the EIP on AHA.
