This commitment is addressed to support the EIP AHA D4 renovated plan in its general domain 3 about age-friendly tourism and its impact. Concretely, it is focused to foster the initiatives and the research towards promoting age-friendly tourism as: (i) social policy to promote quality of life and wellbeing of senior tourists, (ii) growth opportunities in silver economy, and (iii) regional development for LRAs. Polibienestar with the entities included in this commitment commit to: (i) conduct research on ageing and the promotion of personal autonomy through tourism participation, concretely evaluating the benefits of elderly participation through leisure and touristic activities in terms of contribution to reduce their sedentary lifestyles and enhance their health and wellbeing; (ii) assess collected evidence about the impact of these previous benefits in the social and health systems; (iii) map good practices, tourism products, etc., that contribute to improve the quality of life, wellbeing and social inclusion of elderly people at the same time avoiding the seasonality of tourism destinations and providing economic benefits for tourism sector and public administrations (silver economy; with special attention to business models and the role of ICTs). In this line partners from this commitment and other commitments in the same domain have started to work in the sprint to map good practices and indicators.
