An Action Group is a community of partners who are committed to work on specific issues related to active and healthy ageing. They do this by sharing their knowledge and expertise with their peers, increasing the added-value of their national and local experience, and identifying gaps that need to be fulfilled at European level.
The six EIP on AHA Action Groups involve stakeholders ranging from academia to public authorities, large industry and SMEs, health and care organisations, investors and innovators, end users and patients’ associations. They cover the local, regional, national and European levels. The groups work on the basis of coherent Action Plans which identify priorities, objectives and common activities within the scope of the EIP Strategic Implementation Plan. They are independent and self-governed by a team of co-ordinator members.
Stakeholders wishing to get involved in one of the six Action Groups set up so far have been selected through an “Invitation for Commitment” application process.
After three rounds of calls in 2012, 2013 and 2016, around 1,000 commitments have been gathered and published on the Commitment Tracker Tool. Although regular Invitations are sent out, both EIP on AHA current partners and those organisations wishing to join the Partnership can submit their commitments at any time: Submit your commitment today.
In the 2018-2020 cycle, Action Groups have renewed their Action Plans in line with the priorities of the digital transformation of health and care in the Digital Single Market. Moreover, they will report progress on their activities on regular basis, contributing to fostering the engagement of partners and the scaling-up of proposed solutions.
