Higher education institutions across Europe organise welcome events for students starting their studies to introduce you to your host university, your study destination and fellow students.

Normally, these events are free of charge and take place in the first week(s) of the semester. Generally you are not obliged to attend the welcome events, but it is highly recommended you do.

Most welcome programmes include campus tours, workshops, presentations and social events.

Through these activities, you’ll get to know fellow students, meet lecturers, discover your host university and study destination and find out more about student life and student organisations there.
