SELFIE Forum: schools and policy makers to discuss digital technologies for teaching and learning
The first SELFIE Forum will take place on 4-5 April 2019 in Madrid. The invitation-only event, organised by the European Commission, will gather over 180 participants from across Europe – including ministry representatives, national SELFIE coordinators, school leaders, teachers, students, policymakers and researchers who will discuss their experiences of using the tool. The Forum will provide a platform to gather feedback on SELFIE, to share examples on how the tool is being used in different countries and to facilitate discussion on how schools can be supported in following up the results of their self-evaluation.
The first day will open with keynote speeches on digital innovation and schools, followed by a panel session on how SELFIE can contribute in the context of digital change. The afternoon will allow for smaller group discussions; participants will share their recommendations for school policy at the EU level in the six areas of SELFIE – leadership, infrastructure, teacher continuous professional development, teaching and learning, assessment and student digital competence. The second day will continue with good examples of SELFIE use in different countries and a panel discussion on next steps.
