19/10/2015 : ECFIN Annual Tax Workshop: Political economy of tax reforms

ECFIN's tax workshop is an annual event discussing tax-related issues relevant for economic surveillance. Each year the workshop focusses on a key topic currently on the political agenda or in the economic debate. It gathers high level academics, policy makers and representatives of international institutions.

  • Summary of the workshoppdf(187 kB) Choose translations of the previous link "In the context of tax policy challenges in many EU Member States, the 2015 ECFIN taxation workshop addressed the political economy obstacles substantial tax reforms face and possible avenues to successful reform implementation. It presented concrete examples of tax reforms in Italy and Greece, discussed the political economy dimensions of specific tax areas and looked into issues related to tax fraud and tax coordination. The workshop hosted Commissioner Moscovici for the keynote address."
