Peter Carlsson is CEO and Co-Founder of Northvolt, a producer of premium, high energy batteries and systems. Since its founding in 2016, the company has become a global leader within sustainable, large scale battery production, engaged in partnerships with some of the world’s leading premium automotive manufacturers, industry players and financial institutions. Working to fulfil orders valued at USD $55 billion, Northvolt represents a world-class team of over 6,000 employees.
Before founding Northvolt, Peter worked as CPO and Head of Supply Chain at Tesla Motors. He has also been CPO for NXP (former Philips Semiconductors) responsible for purchasing and outsourcing, and country manager. Earlier, Peter was CPO at Sony Ericsson from 2005, with 13 years’ of different roles across Ericsson and Sony Ericsson.
He has a Master’s degree from Luleå Technical University in Sweden, where he has also received an honorary degree of Doctor. Peter was recognized in TIME’s 100 Most Influential Climate Leaders in Business for 2023.
