Sixten Korkman

Sixten Korkman

Managing Director, ETLA.

Sixten Korkman is presently Managing Director of ETLA, the Economic Research Institute of the Finnish Economy, and EVA, the Finnish Business and Policy Forum.

Previously he worked, among others, as Director General of the economic department of the Finish Ministry of Finance, and as Director General at the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, Directorate for Economic and Social Affairs.

Mr. Korkman is an economist with a doctoral degree from the University of Helsinki, and has written extensively on economic policy issues, including a book on Economic Policy in the European Union, (Palgrave MacMillan, 2005). He is one of the authors of two recent ETLA reports on the Nordic countries: The Nordic Model - Embracing Globalization and Sharing Risks (2007) and Nordics in Global Crisis - Vulnerability and Resilience (2010).
