On 29 January 2019, the European Commission's Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations department (ECHO) will hold an information day in Brussels, Belgium, focusing on its work programme for civil protection.
The aim of the information day is to familiarise potential applicants with the “Prevention and Preparedness Projects" and Union Civil Protection Mechanism exercises by providing guidance on the preparation of applications for calls for proposals and tenders to be published in 2019.
Funding opportunities for a number of activities through the call for proposals for prevention and preparedness projects and the call for proposals and tenders for Union Civil Protection Mechanism exercises are available here.
Some Mechanism activities are extended to the eastern and southern neighbourhood countries and to EU enlargement countries that are not yet participating in the Mechanism. These new initiatives aim to strengthen cooperation between the Mechanism's Participating States and their neighbouring countries in the field of disaster management, and should complement the activities financed by the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) and the European Neighbourhood Policy Instrument (ENPI).
The information day ensures that potential applicants are aware of the technical and administrative requirements so that proposals and tenders comply with the required quality standards.
Supporting the development of relevant, innovative and cost-effective proposals is essential to allow a successful implementation of the Commission's policy objectives.
The information day is for representatives of stakeholders in the field of civil protection (national administrations, regional and local authorities, private sector, non-governmental organisations, academies, research institutes). If you are interested in attending this information day, please send an email no later than January 18 to ECHO-CP-P&P@ec.europa.eu.
Please note that the number of places in the meeting room are limited. On the day, the event will also be web streamed live on this website. A link willl be available closer to the date.
