On 13 January 2020, the European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Operations will hold an information day in Brussels, Belgium, focusing on its work programme for civil protection.
The aim of the information day is to familiarise potential applicants with the “Prevention and Preparedness Projects" and Union Civil Protection Knowledge Network giving some useful guidance on the preparation of applications for calls for proposals/tenders to be published in 2020.
Funding opportunities for a number of activities through the calls for Proposals for prevention and preparedness projects, the Call for proposals/tenders for UCPM exercises and the call for proposals for the Network Partnership are available on the EU Civil Protection Mechanism webpages.
Some Mechanism activities are extended to the eastern and southern neighbourhood countries and to EU enlargement countries that are not yet participating in the Mechanism. These activities aim to strengthen cooperation between the Mechanism's Participating States and their neighbouring countries in the field of disaster risk management, and should complement the activities financed by the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) and the European Neighbourhood Policy Instrument (ENPI).
In order to ensure that the proposals and tenders comply with the required quality standards and to increase their success rate, the Commission organises an information day to inform potential applicants on the technical and administrative requirements and criteria applicable.
The information day is intended for representatives of stakeholders in the field of civil protection (national administrations, regional and local authorities, private sector, non-governmental organisations, universities, research institutes). If you would be interested in attending this information day, please send an email no later than January 7 cob to: ECHO-CP-P&P@ec.europa.eu and put ECHO-CP-TRAINING-EXERCISES@ec.europa.eu in copy. We will provide you with a registration form. The event will also be streamed live on the DG ECHO website.
