24/01/2014 - Across South Sudan, men and women narrate harrowing tales of targeted killings, mass graves, executions, destruction of property, looting, rape, and all manner of human rights violations. The conflict that broke out in December 2013 has displaced nearly one million people and at least 10 000 have died. In Mingkaman village, over 75 000 people, mainly from Bor and the adjacent villages have found refuge. Humanitarians cannot easily access the populations caught up in the conflict. Most humanitarian assets in the conflict hot spots have been looted.
