Know your city reduce your seismic risk through non-structural elements (KnowRISK)

The project KnowRISK aims at facilitating local communities’ access to expert knowledge on seismic risk and non-structural protective solutions into practical knowledge and communication tools designed to engage communities in disaster risk reduction. 
Around 70%-85% of construction cost goes into non-structural elements, their damage can strongly influence the ability of communities to cope with and recover from earthquakes. Moreover collapse or turnover of non-structural elements may obstruct the escape routes.
