“I don’t want to think about you, you have hurt me a lot, but I would never hurt you back…” are some of the lyrics to a song written by Ali and Mohamad, 2 aspiring rappers from northern Lebanon.

These boys never knew how to read and write, but spent their time listening to different musical genres. Hearing rap for the first time moved them to start composing their own songs!

Their determination led them to join the SHIELD programme, which provides education and psychosocial support to vulnerable Syrian refugee and host community adolescents.

SHIELD is supported with EU humanitarian funds and implemented by War Child Holland, Plan International and the Lebanese Organisation for Studies and Training Akkar Network for Development.
