Millions of people in Ukraine are in need of humanitarian aid due to the conflict in the eastern part of the country. The prolonged fighting has led to increased vulnerability and displacement of people both inside Ukraine and beyond its borders. Security in the country remains volatile, and frequent ceasefire violations seriously impact the daily lives of people living near the contact line. The situation is even more difficult for the most vulnerable – single parents, the elderly, the sick and disabled.
Thanks to support from the European Commission, the Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) reaches those who are unable to leave their homes due to health issues or disability. PAH manages canteens where the elderly can get warm, high-calorie meals every day, and provides those in need with warm clothing, shoes and hygiene kits.
