To respond to the increasing vulnerability and the myriad needs of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, the EU and UK fund a multi-purpose cash programme through the World Food Programme (WFP). Using an innovative electronic card, the most vulnerable refugee families are able to redeem their cash assistance given through WFP each month from any ATM across Lebanon.

With that cash, families are able to decide when and how to spend their cash, giving them more autonomy. Needs change from month to month, but with regular flexible cash assistance, the families are the ones deciding how to get by.
