During the coronavirus lockdown in Jordan, a pillar of refugee protection - access to registration and documentation – came to a sudden halt.

With registration centres closed, refugees could not physically come to the office to process documents.

Thanks to EU humanitarian funding, the UN Refugee Agency found inventive ways to continue providing birth certificates, by using birth notifications from health centres and hospitals.

Refugees need to have documentation for their children. It gives them the right to go to school and travel, to receive assistance and enjoy their rights.
