Turkey currently hosts some 4 million refugees, more than any other country in the world. Many refugee families don’t speak the language or cannot afford transportation, which makes it difficult for them to access basic health and protection services.
The European Union funds humanitarian projects in Turkey to ensure vulnerable refugees and their host communities receive the support they need. The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) implements one of these projects, providing urgently needed services to refugees living in rural areas.
