During this three-day workshop, SMEs will receive an overview of funding options for growth, from banks to venture capital, including practical information on deal terms and documentation. In addition, SMEs will prepare themselves to find, engage with, and collaborate with major corporates, for open innovation and as business partners. The new SME Instrument matchmaking tool for corporate and investor partnering will be explained.
At the end of this training:
(1) Companies will be able to confidently decide on what funding (equity and debt, and hybrid) best fits their present and future needs for growth and sustainability, and how to develop effective offers and responses to matched investors. They will also gain an understanding of typical documentation, diligence procedures, and investor requirements, for the short- and longer-term.
(2) SMEs will have good knowledge of how to discover potential collaborators, engage with, and negotiate partnership agreements with corporates, as well as an understanding of open innovation strategy and tactics.
Who should apply?
Companies with IP ready for exploitation, protectable by patents and copyright, which has major application potential. Companies seeking to understand the full range of funding options available, and with good financial results ready to progress to Stage A finance (equity) or bank loans (debt). The workshop is aimed at the senior management team, financial, and business development leaders.
In order to maximize the synergy between the investing and corporate partnering approaches, we suggest you should register for both modules. Of course, you may also choose to register for only one module, depending on your requirements.
We also recommend to companies attending these workshops to bring their SME-Instrument assigned coach, to maximize impact on your business. Your coach will then receive a separate two-day contract to participate.
