This conference will bring together statutory agencies, leading NGOs, academics and farmers to celebrate the natural heritage of the Duhallow region in South West Ireland.  A major focus of the conference will be conservation action for threatened birds of prey, particularly Hen Harrier (Circus cyaneus) and other Annex 1 bird species.

The conference will also cover:

  • other targets of the project RaptorLIFE including invasive plant species and threatened fish species in the Blackwater river catchment;
  • raptor conservation;
  • the challenges and opportunities of farming and biodiversity in a Natura 2000 site.

Finally, the conference will launch a new book, Duhallow: A Living Landscape for Farming and Wildlife.
