The contest took place on last Thursday, 31 May, with 5 international companies from the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and Italy pitching live to vie for the favour of an expert EBAN member jury and audience.
Every month EBAN gives selected companies a chance to pitch their startup in a monthly webinar broadcast to the European early stage investment community. This time the webinar was organised jointly with the SME Instrument and featured only candidates having received funding form the SME Instrument.
After a hard battle and a 1-point difference in jury scores, a tied audience vote put 2 lucky companies at the top as the winners of the May Scaleup of the Month title:
INVOLI, represented by Co-Founder Mélanie Guittet and Investor Mario Moiso, CEO of Moschini S.p.A, aims at safely integrating drones into the air traffic by providing unique low-altitude air traffic data.
Congratulations also to Shotl, Perceive3D, and Artys who provided fierce competition for the winners and contributed greatly to the webinar. Find more information on all 5 of the participating companies here.
Companies that receive the highest scores each month win the title of “Scaleup of the Month”, which comes with increased visibility within the EBAN network, as well as complimentary passes and a pitching slot to one of EBAN's flagship events. – the EBAN Sofia Annual Congress and the EBAN Luxembourg Winter Summit. The May Scaleup of the Month webinar marks the first successful collaboration with SME Instrument, which is set to continue further with a live Scaleup of the Month competition at the EIC Innovators' Summit 2018 taking place on 10-11 September in Berlin, Germany.
