On 25 and 26 June, selected companies funded by the European Innovation Council (EIC) pilot had the opportunity to present their vision for the future and cutting-edge innovations in the field of renewable energy at the Enel Innovation Hub&Lab in Catania.

The event started with a tour of the Innovation Hub on Monday. On Tuesday, companies shared their visions on renewable energy technologies and met one-to-one with Enel representatives for in-depth discussions on potential partnerships and joint business opportunities.

When talking about the event, Fabio Tentori, Head of Enel Innovation Hubs, stated "The SMEs we met today are amazing. The quality is extremely high, and I believe there will be opportunities for further collaboration with them." He also spoke on Open Innovation and the SME Instrument, "Open Innovation is the best tool we have to quickly find new solutions and technologies and bring them to the market. Programs like the SME Instrument help us identify the best companies to bring into our ecosystem.”

The 18 companies present, all funded under the SME instrument program, specialise in solutions relating to renewable energy (solar, marine, wind and storage) and energy distribution.
