A selected group of EIC pilot pioneers was selected to present their innovations to Evonik managers in Essen, Germany. The matchmaking event focused on new technologies and solutions for the health care and personal care industries.
The EIC Corporate Days leverage collaboration between companies backed by the European Innovation Council (EIC) pilot and promote business opportunities and partnerships. On 5 and 6 February 2019, 16 entrepreneurs joined an EIC Corporate Day with Evonik where they pitched their innovations and engaged in-depth discussions with business and venture capital representatives.
At the event, Jean-Luc Herbeaux, Head of the Business Line Health Care at Evonik, spoke on the motivation behind it: “It’s quite important for us to meet companies with new ideas and new technologies, companies with creativity and drive that can help us stimulate our own innovation. I’m very impressed with the quality of the people I met today.”
When questioned about the potential of companies presenting, Bernhard Mohr, General Manager of Evonik Venture Capital, was quick to answer: “The presentations have been excellent. The companies clearly expressed their technology innovations but also the markets they are addressing. Moreover, they pointed out possible synergies with Evonik. Based on this, I’m very confident that we will be able to identify cooperation possibilities.”
