The Sustainable Industry Low Carbon II (SILC II) initiative is part of Horizon 2020's Industrial Leadership sub-programme. Under the initiative, EASME is funding research and innovation activities which develop innovative, cost-effective technologies for reducing the greenhouse gas emissions of manufacturing and process industries.
The call for proposal targets in particular energy-intensive industries such as iron and steel, non-ferrous metals including aluminium and copper, cement, glass, pulp and paper, chemicals and ceramics.
In 2014 two SILC II projects were selected for funding.
|Agral: Development of the optimum AGRAL cermet manufacturing process for aluminium inert anode application and fuel cell interconnect plates||ALUMINIUM PECHINEY - France|
|LoCO2Fe: Development of a Low CO2 Iron and Steelmaking Integrated Process Route for a Sustainable European Steel Industry||TATA STEEL NEDERLAND TECHNOLOGY BV - Netherlands|
