The European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) is one of the five European Structural and Investment Funds which complement each other to deliver more jobs and growth in the EU. It has an overall budget of €6.4 billion for the period 2014-2020.

    SpilLess: Native microorganisms and autonomous vehicles to combat oil spills

    Oil spills are one of the most damaging causes of maritime pollution. They can often turn into environmental disasters, endangering the lives of several marine species. In order to combat them, the EMFF-funded project "SpilLess" developed a system to clean sea from oil in an environmental-friendly and cost-efficient way, through the use of bacteria.
