The LIFE FLANDRE project invites visitors on a guided evening walk through the fossil dunes along the Belgian-French coast. The walk is centred around Adinkerke (De Panne).

Includes:

  • walk along the 2 000-year-old beach wall and 5 000-year-old fossil dune belt;
  • access to dunes not otherwise open to the public; and
  • aperitif and snack.

Within LIFE FLANDRE, large areas of the “Dune fossile de Ghyvelde” have been acquired so they can be permanently protected. They form part of the cross-border coastal region between Dunkerque in France and Westende in Belgium.
