Stephen is the Chief Strategy Officer for the Digital Hub, Dublin, Ireland. In this role he has been instrumental in supported the development of hundreds of Irish and international digital content and technology companies since 2004. He is currently the Irish government advisor on digital, and has developed Irelands Nation Digital Strategy. One of the central actions he has promoted is to support traditional small business trading on-line. He conceived and has driven the implementation in partnership with the digital industry an innovative incentive voucher scheme.
He is also very active in the field of connected health, sitting on the innovation and quality board of one of Ireland leading teaching hospitals St. James, Dublin. Stephen has considerable commercial and academic experience. Having completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Dublin, Trinity College in 1994, he worked with a succession of very successful Irish technology companies such as: Iona Technologies and Aldiscon. With a continued passion for learning, he has created programmes utilising digital technology and content which have supported over 12,000 participants in schools, communities and the unemployed to become more active with 21st century skills.
