DG CONNECT Deputy director general Zoran Stančič visited Slovenia on 21 May 2015, and took part in a conference and round table on the Digital Single Market (DSM), which was co-organised by the Slovenian Ministry for Education, Research and Sport, and the EU representation in Ljubljana. At the conference and round tables members of the public sector, business community, start-ups, academia and NGO to provided first feed-back to the recently published DSM Strategy.
On 22 May 2015 Mr Stančič presented the DSM in a joint session of the National Assembly the committee of EU affairs and of the committee for Education, Research and Sport.
He also discussed with deputy prime minster Dr Boris Koprivnikar how to modernize the public administration in the digital environment, and how to make e-government solutions user friendly.
Moreover, Mr Stančič discussed with the newly appointed minster for Education, Research and Sport, Mrs Maja Makovec Brenčič, who is responsible for digital society the importance of political ownership and leadership of the DSM strategy.
Going Local gives participants the opportunity to have a say in the development of the European Digital Single Market (DSM) strategy and for us to get a better understanding of national and local digital realities. In 2013, Going Local aimed at raising awareness of the Digital Agenda for Europe. Following positive feedback on the past rounds, events focusing on the DSM Strategy are in progress for this year.
