An exhibition of “best-of-breed” services of e-platforms is open during the whole day.

  • Europeone - eGovernment Conference

    The Europeone e-Government Conference will bring together experts from the Commission, the Member States, the Candidate Countries and the Private Sector. The conference will focus on issues related to interoperability, key enablers, cross border services, trust and privacy, new technologies tendencies, and e-procurement. Experts will discuss and exchange ideas/experiences on how to empower European citizens and businesses in order to improve their mobility across Europe. Discussions will also focus on how Governments are transforming in order to be more efficient, productive and push economic growth in these difficult global times. The event is organized within the context of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of EU.

  • Workshop: Improving Transparency in Government Decision Making

    This is an open event intended for Member States, policy-makers and practitioners interested in improveming the transparency of government decision making at European, national and local level and anyone interested in the area of public administrations as well as businesses and/or citizens who interact with them: eGovernment project implementers, stakeholders in FP6 and FP7 research projects, researchers, businesses, ePractice members etc. This event is all about networking. A few selected speakers will set the scene with a 15 minute presentation and the rest of the programme will be dedicated to roundtable discussions and networking purposes.

  • Semantic Interoperability Conference 2012

    This event will offer an opportunity to explore and discuss how semantic interoperability solutions are being embraced by eGovernment initiatives. The conference combines plenary sessions and interactive panels. eGovernment and semantics experts will present their case studies and real-life examples and experiences with semantic technologies. Semantic Interoperability is a major step for achieving the provision of cross-border digital public services.

  • Standards in the Cloud: a transatlantic mindshare

    Cloud Computing interoperability and standardisation are important elements of the Digital Agenda for Europe. Issues at stake will be reviewed at an EC-ETSI workshop: “Standards in the Cloud: a transatlantic mindshare” The event is co organized by ETSI and EC DG INFSO, in cooperation with NIST, EuroCIO and EuroCloud.   • 6th Future Internet Assembly

    The 6th Future Internet Assembly will take place in Ghent (Belgium) on 16-17 December. The topics of this FIA have been selected along the suggestions given by the community and resulted in a balanced set of sessions addressing technological, social and economic issues of the Future Internet together with possible application scenarios. A novelty of this edition of FIA will be the demonstrations that are organised jointly with ServiceWave (http://servicewave.eu/2010/) and FIRE (http://fire-ghent.fi-week.eu/). FIA Ghent will be part of the Future Internet Conference Week, from 13-17 December 2010, a series of events concerning different aspects of the Future Internet and will be collocated with iMinds, an event with focus on Information Technology innovation that the host (IBBT) organises yearly with great success (http://www.fi-week.eu/).     Key ICT standards are perceived by many as critical technology platforms with a strong public interest dimension. However, concerns are voiced that Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and their exclusivity potential, may hinder or prevent standardisation. The European Commission and the European Patent Office (EPO) are organising a conference to address some specific issues on patents and ICT standards: are today’s IPR features still compatible with fast moving markets and the very complex requirements of ICT standardisation in a global knowledge economy environment? Where are problems that we can we fix?
