The Commission is opening a public consultation on the rules which govern the processing of personal data and the approach towards privacy in the electronic communications sector (the ePrivacy Directive) This kicks off a review of the ePrivacy Directive to ensure that it is fit for the digital age and for the challenges facing European society. This is one of the key actions of the EU's Digital Single Market strategy to strengthen trust in online services. Read more
