The European Commission has opened an in-depth investigation over the price caps for the fixed termination rates proposed by the German telecoms regulator BNetzA. The Commission intends to investigate further, in cooperation with BNetzA and BEREC, whether there are adequate grounds for setting price caps considerably in excess of the initial result of the cost model used by BNetzA.
