The European Assistance for Innovation Procurement Initiative published the third module of its toolkit on innovation procurement. This module is aimed at legal departments of public procurers and legal experts in general: it explains, illustrated by case law and example legal formulations, the different steps of how to implement innovation procurements in line with the legal framework. An exemplary view of how the broadband mapping portal could look like

The European Broadband Mapping project will be presented at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Regional Development Forum in Vilnius on 26 April. The mapping project, launched by the European Commission, will result in an interactive online mapping application that will aggregate and benchmark measurements of fixed and mobile broadband connectivity. All Member States of the EU and EEA will be covered. The database and online application will go live in late 2017. Read more

In the context of the Horizontal Taskforce on FinTech and Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT), the European Parliament has mandated the European Commission to implement a Pilot project in order to build up technical expertise and regulatory capacity. The European Commission intends to launch a call for tender for a service contract to set up an EU Blockchain Observatory. Read more
