The success story of the Portuguese startup Tuizzi

For anyone that needs maximum attention for a new product or service, look no further than Tuizzi, an online platform that has been described as the booking.com of outdoor advertising.

Small businesses, brand managers or advertising agencies can easily find and book online the outdoor advertising space they need while ad space providers such as billboard owners can sell their wares. A seemingly simple idea but one that Tuizzi was the first to develop and take to market.

The ingenuity of the platform was recognised by Startup Games in 2012 when Tuizzi took second place and its founder, Afonso Santos, was recognised as “Outstanding Individual”. Afonso was also recently a speaker at the prestigious Lisbon Summit – The Economist Insights.

Tuizzi was helped along the way by EU funds as well as by the business incubator UPTEC which generously helped them with mentorship, investment and workshops. For Alfonso, “European funds and startup accelerators are an essential support for young entrepreneurs. These and other opportunities should be explored to give life to new, exciting projects”.  Tuizzi now plans to extend its business to the USA, Japan and Colombia.
