Taking place on 15-17 November 2004 in The Hague, this year's event has something to say about almost every sphere of life in Europe - today and tomorrow. It is "a must" for any researcher, industrialist, business or citizen interested in how the European Union funds IST research, development and applications. Registration fees are 400 Euro for the three days, or 150 Euro per day. Card carrying journalists and students are admitted free of charge. For those submitting a registration before 15 October, we offer the special rate of 350 Euro for the three days.

- The Conference - with 30 sessions- will examine how technology can be harnessed to enhance the prosperity, security and quality of life of all Europeans. The conference includes sessions on the 2005-6 workprogramme for IST research, and on the emerging research strategy for the 7th Framework Programme.
- The Exhibition- with around 130 stands, illustrates how technology can improve the way we live, work together, and communicate. And how such technologies support a more competitive, knowledge-based economy throughout Europe.
- The European IST Prize : The 20 winners of this year’s prestigious prize demonstrate their award-winning technologies in a special village mounted within the exhibition.
- Networking Opportunities – Up to 80 sessions suggested and organised by participants in the IST 2004 event themselves - bringing together people interested in specific project ideas, research activities or opportunities for business partnership. These informal sessions are still being selected from an open call for ideas
