On 10 July 2014, the European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media Services (ERGA) adopted, by written procedure, its first Work Programme. The document sets out the work for the remainder of the year 2014.

The Work Programme is a result of a consultation process that ran from 4 March to 10 April 2014 and involved all ERGA members and the European Commission.

The ERGA Work Programme sets up three sub-groups that will work on the following themes:

  1. Independence of audiovisual regulatory bodies;
  2. Material jurisdiction;
  3. Protection of minors.

While the first sub-group is scheduled to produce its deliverables by the end of the year, the two other sub-groups will carry on with their work on the evolution of regulation at EU level in 2015 with a modified remit to be discussed during the adoption procedure of the Work Programme for 2015.
