Did you know that at the end of year 2014, the number of mobile connected devices will exceed the number of people on the Earth?

Whether to shop, move, buy concert tickets, pay bills or access banking services, mobile is becoming the preferred access path to online services.

In the European Union the mobile payments market is very fragmented thus raising barriers difficult to be overcome by the interested players.

The workshop is to kick start a collaborative effort to define a generic (i.e. technology agnostic) standardized security platform in view of enabling secure and interoperable m-payments service delivery.

The workshop is co-organised by the European Commission and ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute.
