After his graduation from Chalmers University of Technology with a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Hasse’s first job was at Philips AB in Stockholm 1974. In 1982 he started his own engineering company, Mecel AB, where he was CEO until 2001, when he accepted the position as Executive Vice President R&D at Scania CV AB, the Swedish truck manufacturer. He retired from this position in 2010. Today he serves as Board member in several Boards. Among them as Chairman of the Board in Vinnova, the Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems, and as Chairman of Lindholmen Science Park AB, in Gothenburg. He is also Board member of AB Electrolux and Fouriertransform AB, a government initiated Venture Capital company. Since year 2000 he is member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
Hasse Johansson holds about 25 patents in Combustion Engines Control and Automotive Electronics and received in 1989 the Swedish Innovation and Design Award and in 2012 he received the Royal Institute of Technology´s “Large Gould Medal” for Collaboration between industry and academy.
