Get Involved - Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs

Stakeholders such as companies (from the ICT and ICT-using sector), governments, education providers and employment agencies can get involved to the Grand Coalition at European, national and local level. The can implement several types of actions, including industry-led training, cross-border mobility opportunities and raising awareness.

What you can do

There are many ways you can get involved in the Grand Coalition. We are inviting you to get involved and do your bit for European prosperity. These are just a few examples of what you can do:

  • Make a pledge to commit to taking positive action to address the ICT skills gap;
  • Plug in your e-skills related initiatives into our existing network by getting involved in  National or Local Coalition;
  • Raise awareness about the initiatives of the Grand Coalition, through conferences, meetings, newsletters, events, etc.;
  • Bring greater visibility to ICT education, training, jobs and careers through conferences, meetings, newsletters, events;
  • Inform students, young professionals and SMEs about the range of opportunities that ICT-related jobs present;
  • Share your success stories and best practices with the Secretariat; we will help you to export them to other Member States through their National and Local Coalitions. If neither a national nor Local Coalition exists in your country, the Secretariat can help you set one up;
  • Set up a National or Local Coalition in your country.

Make a Pledge

The Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs acknowledges that the ICT skills gap cannot be narrowed without collective action. People are encouraged to take action if they see others doing it. Over the past year the Commission has invited stakeholders to make pledges, where they can commitg to specific immediate actions that  address the ICT skills gap. So far we have received more than 60 pledges.

We welcome new pledges. If you wish to submit a new pledge, please complete the Grand Coalition Pledge Template and send it via email.

Secretariat of the Grand Coalition

The Secretariat of the Grand Coalition was established for a period of 2 years (February 2014 - February 2016) to support the initiatives of the Grand Coalition and committed to getting things done. It had a budget of €1 million from the Competitiveness and Innovation programme.You can find more information about the Secretariat's work.

Support Services for the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs

The European Commission has launched a call for tenders for a service contract with a total price that cannot exceed One million Euros today. The deadline is 3 May 2016.
