The project aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of the combined action of a participatory sensing platform and a knowledge co-creation network to increase the awareness about the problem of tropospheric ozone pollution in sub-urban and rural areas.
The project will target citizens directly affected by the problem and will be driven by local communities, citizens, civil society organizations and research centers. A change in the level of awareness of the problem is expected, as well as an increase in their use of the different channels at their hand to put pressure on decision makers to reverse the situation.
The project will also demonstrate the possibility of obtaining data of enough quality as to be used in a scientific study on the ozone transport pathway, thus being an example of citizen science.
The project will develop three testebds in different socioeconomic areas, two in mediterranean countries (Spain, Italy) and one in a non-mediterranean country
