Creating Networks & Technology (Hall X4)
Stand number: C04
The Graphene Flagship is one of Europe’s biggest research initiatives, running for ten years under the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Flagships programme. Selected by the European Commission in 2013, it represents a new form of joint, coordinated research initiative on an unprecedented scale, with a combined academic-industrial consortium of 145 partners in 21 countries across Europe.
The Graphene Flagship targets a number of specific goals to exploit the unique properties of graphene, a novel material consisting of a single layer of carbon atoms. The research effort covers the entire value chain, from materials production to components and system integration. The flagship’s mission is to bring together academic and industrial researchers to take graphene from the realm of academic laboratories into the market, contributing to technological and economic growth in Europe with a clear impact on society.
