The Digital Single Market (DSM) denotes the strategy of the European Commission to ensure access to online activities for individuals and businesses across EU. The Digital India is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. India is banking on 850 million internet users and 90% smartphone penetration in next three to four years to achieve $1 trillion value from digital economy by 2025.

Our main objective is to share about Digital India, compare and contrast with DSM and facilitate discussions among EU and Indian academics and policy makers leading to research collaborations. Learnings from EU DSM is important as EU is also interested in South Asia to improve the value chain towards sustainable development.
