FANDANGO - Big Data and AI against Fake News
Room L7, 05/12/2018 (09:00-09:45)
The objective of the session is threefold:
First, we want to show the capabilities of FANDANGO, a platform that supports the detection of fake news, images and video, and helps to verify the authorship and truthfulness of news by offering verified data from diverse official sources at national and international level.
Second, we would like to increase the number of users of the platform through this session, showing and communicating its features, but also listening to the needs of target users, e.g. journalists, media consumers, public authorities, and other users such as researches, SME and large enterprises. The ICT Proposers' Day 2018 in Vienna is the right place for this, as it will bring together a broad spectrum of all those actors mentioned above.
Last but not least, we seek to identify other projects that are tackling similar topics and find possible synergies to continue collaborating in future EU Calls for 2019-2020 and FP9, and thus, increase the capacity of the platform and its possible applications, not only in terms of information, but also in terms of business and reputation, delving further into the social media problem.
Since fake news is a global problem that concerns the society as a whole, FANDANGO aims to incorporate the feedback of all the sectors involved, to adopt durable, effective and consensual solutions.
