A new European digital space: research challenges and international impact
Room L5, 06/12/2018 (11:30-12:15)
Europe’s Digital Single Market strategy not only changes the framework and environment for EU citizens and businesses, its impact will potentially be global. New rules, for example regarding data and privacy or access to online content, affect businesses worldwide. In fact we may be witnessing the emergence of a new European space for online businesses. The creation of this space provides new opportunities and challenges, for example new technologies for privacy will be needed, such as differential privacy, automatic forgetting, and privacy-aware big data. This networking session aims to clarify the DSM’s international impact dimensions and discusses emerging challenges for IT research with a perspective of the international dimension of FP9.
