Cybersecurity Issues and their Possible Solutions: a Co-creation Approach
Room 2.15, 05/12/2018 (17:30-18:15)
Warren Buffett, the American business investor, and philanthropist who serves as the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway in a recent company meeting said, "Cyber is uncharted territory. It's going to get worse, not better,".
At an individual level, a Cybersecurity attack can result in everything from identity theft, to extortion attempts, to the loss of important data like family photos. Everyone relies on critical infrastructure like power plants, hospitals, and financial service companies. Securing these and other organizations is essential to keeping the society functioning.
Building on the rise of need to be Cybersecure, the objective of the proposed session would be to bring various Cybersecurity actors together in order to discuss issues and solutions for Cybersecurity, ranging from data breaches to intentional intrusions by adversaries. The participants would have the opportunity to learn about different Cybersecurity issues faced by each other and together propose a possible solution for these issues. Participants could also propose the solution through story telling on how they dealt with particular Cybersecurity challenge they faced first hand in their organisation/project. Such a networking session would also open doors for potential collaboration opportunities between the participants and thus could lead to the creation of synergies between various Cybersecurity projects/firms.
