Data centers are reported to account for around 2% of the world’s total energy consumption and is expected to overtake the carbon emissions of the airline industry by 2020. Some of the drivers are IoT, Cloud and Big Data, which end up in mega data centers. Therefore, efficient use of energy is more important than ever. So is security, which also is a huge challenge. This session will look into some examples of data center mega trends, like energy, security, dockers and virtualization. Welcome!
The 45 minutes session is divided into an introduction of this booming industry and the challenges that we are facing by the new digital society. This is followed by a trend analysis of some data center mega trends. To sum up, the audience will be able to give their views of what the data center future will look like.
